A claim can be submitted here. If your client is unable to claim online, a paper claim form can be requested by calling 0344 770 9000. Our Legal Advice Helpline number is 0344 770 1044 and we ask that your client contacts us on this number before taking any action to evict a tenant.
In order to make a claim, rent must be in arrears for a full month to be accepted.
Rent arrears are payable for a maxium of 12 months up to a maximum of £2,500, even if the agreed rent is above that amount.
There's a 14 day cooling off period from the start of the policy. In the event of cancellation after the cooling off period, a full pro-rata refund will be given if no claim has been made.
If your client requires cover for more than one property, they will need to purchase cover for each property they would like to cover.

As with all insurance policies there are circumstances when cover can't be offered or a claim paid. For example, where a satisfactory tenant reference for each tenant hasn't been obtained, any claim relating to violence or dishonesty on the part of the policyholder, legal expenses incurred without our prior consent and any claim for Rent Protection where there is no related claim being pursued to evict the tenant.
