In a sign of changing times, experts from across the insurance industry gathered in London last night for the National Insurance Awards to celebrate outstanding performance in general insurance.


It was an award-winning evening for Paymentshield who were presented as 2021’s Specialist Coverage Provider of the Year alongside a shortlisting for Communications Team of the Year.


Louise Pengelly, Proposition Director at Paymentshield, explained she was “excited” for Paymentshield to be recognised for its work over the last year supporting customers who were facing huge issues dealing with the global pandemic.  


“I’m incredibly excited that Paymentshield has picked up this award. Everyone in the business has helped deliver outstanding customer service and provide people with much needed reassurance and stability. With everything the country has been through over the last 18 months, I’m proud we’ve been recognised for being there for people when we were needed the most”.


Paymentshield entry highlighted the measures Paymentshield took to help identify financially vulnerable customers and provide sales support via several pricing initiatives, both to ensure the financial and mental wellbeing of customers and to maintain outstanding service standards.


The work that Paymentshield did during National Conversation Week was also included in the entry. The awareness week highlighted the issues of financial and mental wellbeing on a national level, encouraged people to talk more openly about their financial situation and signposted those in need to resources and help.


Finally, the award also comes in recognition of the work Paymentshield has done to support the community of advisers in sharing best practice and providing tailored support to meet the needs of its partners.


This award is Paymentshield’s second award win in a matter of months having been named GI Provider of the Year at the 2021 Financial Reporter Awards.
